On 5 November 2011 WBO champion Robert Stieglitz (40-2, 23 KOs) will be defending his world title at super middleweight an the Park soccer stadium in Copenhagen against the mandatory challenger Mikkel Kessler (44-2, 33 KOs). "It was always my dream to fight in a stadium. This fight is really something special for me," Robert Stieglitz said of the impending duel against the Danish ex-world champion Kessler.

SES manager Ulf Steinforth and the manager of Sauerland Event, Kalle Sauerland have agreed on the venue and the date. A true World Championship collusion has therefore been finalized. Ulf Steinforth: "The fight between Mikkel Kessler and Robert Stieglitz is a true sports highlight, a duel between two top boxers of the world rankings. Such boxing fights are needed and I look forward to this sporting comparison. Likewise I am sure that Robert will show his growing experience as a champion and that he will not be dethroned by Mikkel Kessler. "

Kalle Sauerland sees also the fight as high-class: "This is a spectacular fight. Mikkel Kessler is in his homeland a national hero. He reaches an audiences with his fights of up to 72 percent. The whole country is behind him and wants nothing more that of the Viking Warrior will be world champion again after his departure, due to injury, from the Super Six tournament. But Robert Stieglitz is a tough one, who has developed strongly in recent years. The spectators in the ARD can look forward to a great boxing evening in Copenhagen."

"I take every challenge as a champion and do not averse opponents. Mikkel Kessler is a serious opponent but he will not take away my WBO crown," the Magdeburg based fighter said. The 30-year-old Robert Stieglitz was last in action on April 9th 2011 in his hometown of Magdeburg and had beat Khoren Gevor by unanimous decision. The ratings on German television with his fights have steadily increased especially through its attractive boxing style and fighting actions.

Since 2009 the Viking Warrior has been with the Sauerland team. In the Super Six tournament, he scored a victory over the at that time undefeated WBC champion and current Super Six finalists Carl Froch. Then an eye injury forced him to withdraw from the tournament. In early June he returned to the ring after a 14-month break with a technical knockout win over Mehdi Bouadla. Now he wants to become the world champion for the fourth time. Kessler: "I have great respect for Robert Stieglitz . He is a worthy champion. But his time as champion ends at the moment when we meet in the ring. Throughout my career I've always competed against the best so it will be this time and I'll be the winner. "

"It does not matter where the fight takes place. As world champion I will go wherever I will be challenged and I'll show everywhere in the world that I am the real champion," countered Stieglitz the certainty of victory of Mikkel Kessler.
